About Jeffrey Woodard

We would like to make sure that everyone is safe during these extreme conditions. While we would love be open our Normal Business Hours this Valentine’s Day and President’s Day Holiday; we will have to Shorten our Hours today in order to allow our Wholly Cow Family (Staff) to safely get home.

We will watch the weather Closely; we will strive to be open during Daylight hours today (Sunday) & tomorrow (Monday) before road conditions turn extreme.

Thank you for supporting local family small businesses. Be safe stay warm.

Howdy everybody!

Wanted to check in with everyone. See how you & you & you have been making things happen in your world since March. I know everyone has a story and mine & Wholly Cow’s is all relative and no better or worse than anyone’s.

I aim to be better at posting something every day or so. We would love to hear from you as well.

Want to Focus on Some of the Positives (we’ll have plenty of time to talk about the negatives later) that have been happening since the Stay-at-Home orders and re-openings. Although the Fredericksburg Peaches crop is down to about 30% this year; we have been fortunate enough to have some cases in stock each week. They are Super Sweet & Juicy. Stop by the Lamar location and take a bite!

We also have added some new recipes of Salsas, Jams and Vegetables to our Wholly Cow Product Line… Everyone has loved the Ghost Chili Pepper Salsa, now we have added a Serrano Salsa & a Carolina Reaper Salsa. We will supply the tissues to wipe away the tears (we also have drinks and ice cream for sale).

We also have been asked for years to have Hats. We will have Trucker & Flex-fit hats to compliment our Wholly Cow Burgers Shirts.

Gotta jump into the kitchen but look forward to talking with you guys again soon. Have a Blessed and Energized Day.

Jeff & the Wholly Cow Family.

To our valued guests,

With your health and safety always at the forefront of our thoughts, we wanted to reach out to you in response to the recent developments regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19).

First, please know that our hearts are with those affected. We are people who love people, and we wish everyone in our communities the best of health.

As the situation continues, we’re committed to taking extra precautions to take care of the most important part of our restaurants: our guests and our teammates.

In addition to our regular and diligent cleanliness and hygiene standards, we are taking the following added precautions to make our restaurants safe, sanitized and welcoming to everyone dining with us:

  • We are actively monitoring official guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and communicating regularly with our teammates.
  • We’ve asked our teammates to stay home if not feeling well and are staying in constant contact so that we may take prompt and efficient action. We kindly ask that any guests who are ill wait until they’ve recovered before letting us serve them in person. Delivery services are offering No-Contact service.
  • Our teammates are conducting additional comprehensive disinfecting procedures in all parts of the restaurant to provide added peace of mind to those celebrating with us.

Throughout this time, we will continue to be here to serve you with the same hospitality and scratch-made food you love with Pickup, Online Ordering, and delivery services. Check out our Evolving menu for Family Packages, Fresh Beef, Sides & Produce to have a Family Experience in the Kitchen while at home on WhollyCowBurgers.com

You can feel confident that we will keep things running while taking every reasonable precaution.

We will continue to closely monitor this evolving situation, stay in close contact with health organizations and keep you updated on the steps we’re taking to keep your LOCAL GRASS-FED BEEF Source a safe place to celebrate the love of family and friends. We look forward to serving you soon! 9:30AM – 9:00PM

TO OUR FAMILY OF GUESTS THAT WE WELCOME TO OUR CONGRESS LOCATION:

The Congress at 7th Downtown is closed as of February 2015 to make room for the development of a new upscale Hotel by Starwood Resorts called ALOFT & ELEMENT.  Demolition of the interior will begin next week and the building within a few weeks. Many of you have noticed the holes already in the floors and walls over the past couple of months.

We would like to THANK all of our loyal guests that we have welcomed into our family. Many of you we see every day, every week, and some 3 times a day. Whether you visit us every day or you plan your trip to visit us once a year, we really appreciate your support of our food, our staff and our support of local farms and products.

We would like to invite you to stop in at our Original location at 3010 S Lamar Blvd in the 04 (78704).  We also want to THANK and RECOGNIZE our staff at both locations for working hard as it shows in some of the most recent news releases in February 2015:

  • Eater Austin ranked us # 7 in “The Best Places for Lunch in Downtown Austin”
  • Yahoo took Huffington Post’s Thrillist article “The Best Burgers in the Country, According to Chefs”

Some of the facts that you may have questions about:

Q: What does this mean about Wholly Cow Burgers?      A: Wholly Cow Burgers will be going strong. We have the original location at 3010 S Lamar Blvd, Austin TX 78704, a Food Truck, and Catering currently.

Q: Are you opening another location downtown?     A: We are currently in negotiations for a few locations. A couple in the downtown area, on the North side of Austin and a San Antonio location.

Q: What about the staff from the Congress location?      A: Most of our staff work at both locations already. Some are family members and the rest are “adopted family members”.

Q: What is something about the Congress location that not very many people know?      A: We opened in February of 2012. While we were training our new staff. Comedian and Actor John Leguizamo was playing the Paramount/State Theater and ended up being our first paying customer before we opened the doors.

Q: How is such a short notice of closure affecting you?      A: Even though we knew the demolition and development was inevitable once the building’s historical status was changed, and the demolition application was approved by the prior City Council last year; we’re all sadden that it came a short notice for our guests and staff.

Q: What about the Legislation, Catering or other Standard Orders placed through the Downtown location? A: All orders and caterings already booked through the Congress location will be fulfilled through the Lamar location until another downtown location is opened. (Catering@whollycowburgers.com)

Q: Do you have information about the new Hotel and demolition going in at Congress? A: Attached are some links to articles on the Hotel and we’ll try to post the architects’ rendering.

Q: Any final thoughts? A: Words cannot truly express the heartfelt Thanks to all of the people who are concerned about our future. Many of the future locations that we are in negotiations are recommendations from our guests.

THANKS and we’ll see you tomorrow,

Jeff
